The Home of iPad
The range of apps on this site is going to grow, that's the big plan from the big Apple. At the moment, there are over 1000 apps and this number is growing everyday. The apps mainly stem from the iPhone universe (home to over 100,000 apps), so it remains to be seen just how many specific iPad apps will be developed. So far, the apps include games such as Scrabble, At Bat 2010 from MLB.com and Labrynth 2. There are also reader apps from the Wall Street Journal, CNN.com and Reuters. The Marvel Comics apps looks pretty cool and allows iPaders to browse hundreds of comics by series. Comics will never be the same.

How easy is it to navigate around the site? We tried and tested it out and graded..
Like the apps-for-iPhone site, the apps for iPad site is easy to navigate around. The
page is long and filled with big screenshots, making it very visual. The layout is almost like a blog, in the way the user can scroll down and read post after post. However, at the bottom, there is a universe awaiting – including 'Get to Know iPad', 'iPad video', 'iPad in Business' and 'iPad for Developers'. At the top, tabs link to Store, Mac, iPod, iPhone, iTunes and Support. Easy links to the Apple world.

This site offers two huge screenshots of all the apps that really give you a feel of how the apps look and feel. You can also enlarge the screenshots too. However, we feel there could be a few more screenshots for each app.

When it comes to the product, there is no doubt that the Apple iPad tablet is a revolutionary new way of experiencing the web. It's mobile, yet it's big enough to watch and enjoy full-length movies. It could also change the way we read books, magazines and comics. The website, at the moment, is simple enough but this is a place to grow. Watch this space.

At the footer of the apps list there are a few community links – Apple Discussions, Apple Workshops and Apple One to One, where the most knowledgeable Mac people in the world will transfer your files from your old computer, teach you all the basics in face-to-face training sessions, and guide you through more advanced projects.

Ok how good are the Ipad descriptions and content about these apps? Is there too much info or too little? Is the language easy to follow or boring technical jargon?.

The apps are described in clear, simple English. Each description is one or two paragraphs long, giving an overview of what can be done with the app. Of course, the links to the itunes store will tell you more, such as languages, customer reviews and links to the app support page, as well as the app 'mother' site.

What else can I do here? We gave extra points to sites with video, HD, multiplayer options, mobile, music makers and audio options..

There are RSS feeds that link to all the different sections of the Apple universe – developers, games, news, web apps, links to itunes music and just about every multimedia you can imagine. In terms of video, there are Guided Tours, the iPad TV commercial and a short video from Apple on the making of iPad. But again, this is only the beginning. We, at Dozen Media think that it is here – video – where the thin but brilliant iPad tablet and indeed, this site, will come into its own.
